6 Weeks

Max is 6 weeks old today. By the photo below you can tell that he is a deep thinker. Max is growing in size and he is increasing in his interactions with people. He is starting to smile at things and people. When dad talks he turns to look and he usually relaxes when he hears mom start to talk. He will follow objects and people as they pass by. His favorite thing is to look out a window. Mom has moved chairs in the house to look out side and when we are crying going outside will calm Max down. It is fun to watch all the new things that Max can do each day.

Max is wondering if his hair cut makes his head look big.
We assured him that he is cute no matter what.
A big yawn in the chair that Aunt Stacey gave him. He is calmly sit in his bouncing chair and look out a window.
Mom's friends Andrew and Chris came to visit Max. They did some preparations for the camp year - but Max is certain they came from Santa Cruz just to see him. Andrew is the daddy of three and knew how to hold a baby. Chris had never held a baby before and was a little uncertain, after a few moments of contemplation Max was smiling at him.

5 weeks

Max is growing fast! Our 1 month doctors visit reported that Max is 10lbs 13oz and 22 inches long. He is a healthy baby boy. He is also a very popular baby! We have had many visitors in the last month. We had lunch with Ellen.
Uncle John held me for a little while when he stopped to see Grandma.
Great-Great Aunt Rosalie came to see me. (She bought a home in Fresno the Friday before I was born.)
Aunt Kathy came for a visit, too.
Brett came for a visit all the way for Michigan.

4 weeks at 1st Graduation

At 4 weeks old Max attended his first graduation ceremony. He went to the Savemart Center to see his mom receive her Masters Hood. She earned her Master is Special Education. Dad took care of Max during the ceremony. He was a very good boy considering all the commotion going on.

Three weeks to Belly Buttons

21 days and Max has the cutest little belly button ever! We have had a good week and are starting to regulate our new eating habits. Max is getting bigger ever day. He is clearly a deep thinker.

He had dinner with the missionaries for the first time. Elder Davis had a Future Missionary sticker for Max.

Hanging out with dad.

14 Days Old and Doctors

Max is two weeks old!  He is up to 9 pounds 5 ounces.  Which is good, because he has stomach reflux problems.  We spent his 14th day at the doctors office.  Then we were sent over to Valley Children's Hospital for a live xray of his stomach.  This was all prompted by two days of projectile vomiting.  During the xray we saw that his stomach is not strong enough to keep food in. His food moves freely between his esophagus and stomach causing him to throw up.  We have modified his eating schedule and he is on a medication to help with the acid in his stomach.  He is handling this like a Champ!  He has not fussed too much and does not get upset with the continual changing of his clothes (after they have been thrown-up on.)
Our little man is doing better already.

Max at Valley Children's Hospital.  They put a gown on him which was much too big for him.
